We are proud to announce that from September 24-26, 2021, the Department of Cardiovascular Diseases of the University of Leuven and the pro@heart consortium in collaboration with the Medical Committee of Belgian Cycling organizes an international symposium with the overarching theme:
“Protecting the athlete by improving our understanding of athlete’s physiology”.
This symposium will be held in the Pieter De Somer Aula and the University Hall in the old historic center of Leuven
as an official side-event during the 2021 UCI Road World Championships.
We present an attractive scientific program with the aim of updating physicians and other (para-)medical professionals, while at the same time delivering a practical message for athletes, trainers and the lay public.
We are proud to have attracted national and international top speakers with renowned expertise in sports and exercise cardiology.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you in Leuven!
On behalf of the entire organizing committee,
Best regards,
Guido Claessen, MD, PhD Chair of the conference program
Sports Cardiologist | Dept. of Cardiovascular Diseases | UZ Leuven Assistant Professor | KU Leuven Chair of Medical Committee of Belgian Cycling
